How to increase energy efficiency

Renewable energies, ie solar, wind, hydraulic, geothermal and biomass energy, represent the alternative to fossil fuels, especially gas and oil. For example, photovoltaic systems are a good solution for self-production of energy both in companies, where consumption and demand for electricity is concentrated in the daytime hours, both in public buildings, contributing to energy savings and a reduction in energy consumption, environmental impact and management costs.

How to produce energy with Energreen

We at Fourgroup also offer products for the production of energy from renewable sources such as the Energreen range, the kits composed of the current generator and the Enerbox inverter: an inverter with automatic rechargeable batteries, via a network or alternative energy source, able to transform the low voltage in voltage at 230V in just a few seconds. The batteries can be recharged using renewable sources such as photovoltaic panels or wind, allowing us to easily install our inverter even in areas not served by the power supply. Sunsystem instead is an integrated system consisting of 2 photovoltaic panels and Energreen 1300, thanks to which you can exploit water and electricity where services do not arrive. The ideal solution for micro-irrigation, fertigation, water collection, garden irrigation, lighting in some pathr or zootechincal drinking thoughs.  Take a look a tour “green” products, to store clean energy and use it when needed in seconds, even in the most isolated areas without energy.

Sale of generator sets, the specialization of Fourgroup

At Fourgroup we are specialized in selling generator sets. These are machines formed by a thermal combustion engine for the production of continuous or alternating electricity, useful in the event of a current emergency such as blackout, short circuit or network failures. The genset therefore serves to guarantee direct current in public and private facilities, from schools to offices, and to infrastructures of a certain importance such as hospitals, airports or construction sites, where electricity is essential for carrying out the work. In this way mechanical electrical energy is assured through a magnetic energy alternator, whose engine can be powered by petrol or diesel.

How many models exist?

On the market there are different models of generators applicable according to different needs. For example, silenced generators, battery-driven generators or fire-fighting generators can be found. The silenced generator set has a soundproof generator suitable for activities in public places or outdoors, while the battery-powered generator is recharged with the electricity grid. Then there is the fire-fighting generator that controls the hydraulic pumps through a mixture of electric and thermal energy, putting into operation the fire-fighting systems that are activated in the event of fire in closed places.

Fourgroup series of generator sets

Our Urban series, for example, includes diesel or petrol soundproofed generators for both professional and residential use. Their extraordinary compactness and high soundproofing make them suitable especially for small domestic spaces. The Next series, on the other hand, includes open gasoline or diesel generators and is intended primarily for professional use. The quality of its components, the high strength, thanks to the steel structure, and the ease of lifting and transport, thanks to the comfortable wheels, make our series of generators a reliable and safe product.

Water pump: what is it

The water pump is a machine that transforms electrical energy into hydraulic power by transmitting it to water. It is this energy that causes the movement of the water itself. Each pump is made up of two main elements: the hydraulic part and the electric motor. The support is used to fix the pump to the base. Based on these characteristics, water pumps can be used to lift water from a lower level to a higher level by pushing and are used both for civil and domestic use as well as for industrial use.

Flow and power of the pump

But what do the flow and power of a water pump indicate? The flow rate of the pump is the volume of water, expressed in liters or cubic meters, moved by the pump itself. To raise a water flow, the pump must perform a lifting effort that requires power, ie the energy transmitted by a motor. The choice of the pump depends fundamentally on several factors, such as: the flow rate, the prevalence, the type of liquid to be pumped, since, for example, corrosive liquids require special pumps, and the available energy, important for the choice of engine organ.

Types of water pumps

Depending on the fluid, pressure, temperature or type of system, water pumps can be classified as: kinetic, volumetric and special. The kinetic pumps are the most used and, thanks to their centrifugal force, the liquid increases its kinetic energy which immediately becomes pressure energy. Volumetric pumps move constant volumes of water and are divided into alternatives and rotary presses. In this type of water pump the flow does not depend on the head, but on the amount of cycles performed in a unit of time. The special pumps are all those that do not fall into the other two previous categories but have special functions and meet specific needs.

Our pumping systems for water, at fixed or variable speed, are made to meet any need and can be used both for domestic and industrial use. Less consumption of water, noiselessness, safety, protection, reliability and resistance are the main advantages guaranteed by us at Fourgroup.

Battery for photovoltaic system: which to choose

The photovoltaic system battery is used to accumulate all the energy produced by photovoltaic panels and make it available in case of blackouts, power surges or short circuits, ie during all those situations in which wind and sun are not able to power electrical devices. It can also be said that the battery is the critical element in any off-grid photovoltaic system. But which are the most efficient batteries for installing a photovoltaic system? And what characteristics must the batteries have to ensure optimum energy efficiency?

Batteries for photovoltaic systems: what are the main features

To ensure maximum energy efficiency, as well as system security, the photovoltaic system battery must have a low self-discharge, a high storage capacity, a high resistance to powerful charge / discharge cycles, ie it must be in able to withstand the charges and discharges, considering that during the day they are recharged by the panels, while at night they are discharged from the loads connected to it, and endure the temperatures too high and too low. On the market there are various types of batteries for photovoltaic systems including lead / acid or gel, with an average life of between 3 and 5 years.

Types of photovoltaic system

But what exactly is a photovoltaic system? And how many types do they exist? A photovoltaic system is an electrical system formed by photovoltaic panels that exploit the energy of the sun for the production of electricity. There are essentially two types of photovoltaic systems, ie island plants and systems connected to the network. The island photovoltaic systems, also called stand-alone, are not connected to any network and exploit the energy produced and stored in their own battery, or batteries. On the other hand, grid-connected photovoltaic systems, also known as grid-connected, are connected to an alternating current distribution network but enter all or most of their electricity production through the photovoltaic system.

Electrical installation: security and vanguard

The installation of an electrical system must be carried out in a safe and reliable way, following the regulations in force, since electricity is a precious resource for the operation of buildings and homes, where almost everything is powered by electrical devices. Ma quali sono gli elementi per realizzare un impianto elettrico e quali le normative riguardo l’installazione e la certificazione per tali impianti?

Electrical system: what are its components

For the correct installation of an electrical system, several components are necessary, such as:

  • The control panel, the heart of the system;
  • The earthing system, which is indispensable for grounding electricity in the event of an unexpected voltage surge;
  • Electrical sockets, to connect electronic equipment to the mains;
  • Switches;
  • Conductor cables;
  • Electrical circuits.

The reference standards

The rules concerning the installation of an electrical system are the old Law n. 46 of 1990 which introduced a series of regulations concerning the installation, design and certification of electrical systems. For the qualification to operate on an electrical system, for example, the installation company must issue a declaration of conformity to the owner at the end of the works. This law was then replaced by Ministerial Decree 37 of 2008 with which some modifications were introduced such as the obligation for the owner of the plant to adopt the safety measures taking into account the instructions for use and the maintenance programmed by the installer. From 2011, instead, the V3 variant of the CEI 64-8 standard came into force, with which the three levels of equipment for an electrical system were established. Level 1 corresponds to the basic level, level 2 to medium-standard and level 3 to advanced level. Facilites below level 1 are considered outlaws. Delivering the declaration of conformity and the electrical system booklet certifies the professionalism and quality of the work carried out as well as the possibility of periodically checking the system status and intervening if necessary.
